SKILLFUL RELIABILITY
While Vince started installing wallpaper in 1972, his creativity and hard work was influenced by generations before him. Vince’s father was a professional musician and his mother a professional dancer. And in the early days of outdoor advertising, Vince’s grandfather could be found hand-painting billboards high above New York City.
Key to Vince’s upbringing was a focus on creativity, keeping your word, and hard work. Almost five decades later, those core values still ring true as he helps clients transform spaces and bring their creative visions to life. After completing an intense installation apprenticeship and meeting with a team of architects and designers, Wall Covering by Vince was born in South Florida in the early 1970s.
In 2008, Vince moved to Greensboro, NC to escape hurricanes and traffic of South Florida and be closer to his grand kids. Almost 50 years later, and thousands of projects complete, Vince brings still brings his enthusiasm, pursuit of perfection and professionalism to every project.
WALLPAPER HISTORY
CENTURIES OF COVERING WALLS
Wallcovering has been on walls for centuries, going back as far as 200 B.C., when the Chinese glued rice paper to the walls. It has been used in the Middle East since the 10th century and Europe since the 12th century. Wallcoverings first started appearing in the United States in the mid 1700’s and later became popular in the 1920s.
Until the 1980’s, wallpaper was manufactured using printing machines or done by hand using silkscreen blocks. Recent advances in digital printing, as well as the manufacturing of longer lasting and more durable papers, have made wallpaper more accessible.
